Study programme Biotechnology educates human resources for the performance of professional work in the field of Technological engineering, in the scientific field of Biotechnology with the title Bachelor with honors engineer in technology. By the realization of this study programme at bachelor degree studies, necessary academic skills are acquired and creative abilities are developed necessary for the analysis and synthesis of processes in biotechnological production, for the independent management of biotechnological production, for the optimization of current biotechnological processes, for the analysis of interaction of biotechnology and the environment in order to protect it. The aim of the study programme is also the development of skills for presentation and report of one’s results to specialist and wider audience. This study programme is also the base for continuation of education in the field of Technological engineering. The bachelor degree studies of the study programme Biotechnology cover two optional study fields (modules): Food Biotechnology and Biochemical Engineering.
Study field Biochemical Engineering as a field in the framework of this study programme has the emphasis on engineering education, by which the students are trained to transfer results from laboratory conditions to semi-industrial and industrial scale, to plan, project and run biotechnological processes. Teaching programme of this study field includes multidisciplinary application of biochemistry, microbiology, basic engineering disciplines and biochemical engineering in solving complicated tasks that are imposed by the biotechnological processes’ reality.
