Study programme Food engineering educates human resources for the performance of professional work in the field of technological engineering in the scientific field of Food engineering. In the framework of this study programme specialists are educated and trained to independently organize and run production processes in food industry, to control raw materials, intermediate products, final products and improve current technologies and procedures in the field of food engineering. Apart from that, gained knowledge presents needed theoretical and practical base for continuation of education through doctoral degree studies and further on.
There are three optional study fields (modules) at master academic studies in the study programme Food engineering: Carbohydrate food engineering, Processed food technologies and Quality control. While registering at master academic studies, the students can choose due to their own aptitudes and wishes among mentioned optional fields.
Study programme Biotechnology educates human resources for the performance of professional work in the field of Technological engineering, in the scientific field of Biotechnology.Study programme Biotechnology at this level of study represent continuation of undergraduate academic study level. Its aim is education of master engineer in technology, trained to organize, control and project biotechnological production independently or in a team, run relevant researches and develop new technologies and procedures that contribute to the development of biotechnological products, i.e. for professional work and management in various fields of biotechnological industry.
Master academic studies of the study programme Biotechnology cover two optional study fields (modules): Food biotechnology and Biochemical engineering. While registering at master academic studies, the students can choose due to their own aptitudes and wishes among mentioned optional fields.
Study programme Chemical Engineering educates human resources for the performance of professional work in the field of technological engineering in the scientific field of Chemical engineering. In the framework of this study programme specialists are educated and trained to independently organize and run production processes in chemical, oil-petrochemical, food and pharmaceutical industry. On the master academic studies of Chemical Engineering there are three optional study fields (modules): Chemical-Processing, Oil-Petrochemical and Eco-Energetic Engineering.
Study programme Pharmaceutical engineering educates students with clear and in economy recognizable profession and occupation, i.e. it educates engineers who possess socially justified and useful competence in European and worldwide frameworks. In the framework of study programme Pharmaceutical engineering specialists are trained and educated to organize and run production, process independently or in a team, in pharmaceutical industry, control raw material, intermediate products, final products, improve and optimize current and develop new technologies and procedures. Engineers are trained to solve theoretical and practical problems in the field of technological engineering, project pharmaceutical production, run original and scientifically relevant researches and development of new technologies and procedures in the field of pharmaceutical engineering, which contribute to the development of pharmaceutical products. The necessary skills for analysis and synthesis of processes in pharmaceutical production are developed, as well as for analysis of interaction of pharmaceutical processes and the environment in order to protect it, and the skills for presentation and report of one’s results to specialist and wider audience. At master academic studies at the study programme Pharmaceutical engineering there is a subject which is common for all study programs, while students of Pharmaceutical engineering can choose due to their own aptitudes and wishes among three more subjects, one from each three optional blocks.
In the framework of study programme of Material engineering, the specialists are educated and trained to run, control and improve material production independently or in a team as well as all components and final products obtained from ceramic, polymer or composite materials; to test and improve content, structure and characteristics of materials and to process, apply and recycle material as well as to analyze the influence of the materials and its production on the environment in order to protect it. This study programme is also the base for the continuation of education through doctoral degree and further on. After graduation at master degree level of studies, there is a wide range of employment opportunities such as power-plants and development laboratories dealing with obtaining and processing of materials such as factories of cement, bricks, tiles, ceramics, synthetic polymers (polyethylene, polypropylene, SBR caoutchouc) that are usually part of big multinational companies as well as great number of private and public enterprises dealing with material processing, with the aim of final product obtaining. This study programme is especially appropriate for the development of small businesses. Apart from this, employment opportunity also exists in trade enterprises dealing with material distribution, in scientific laboratories and education institutions.
Study program Material and energy flow management educates professionals from the scientific field of Technology engineering for the management of material and energy flows in the industry, for planning, organization, control, optimization and independently problem solving, during the production process in the chemical, petrochemical, food and pharmaceutical industry. Another aim of the study program is to train professionals to organize original and relevant scientific research in respect of technological, economical and social influences on the development and improvement of existing industrial processes, with the aim of increased energy efficiency of the plant, reduced waste streams, simultaneously considering environmental protection and zero-emission concept, in accordance with national and international laws and standards.
